Easy & Flavorful Beef Fajitas
This beef fajita recipe is packed with smoky, bold flavors and comes together quickly for a delicious and healthy meal.
You can eat these as it is.
Ingredients:
For the Beef:- 1 ½ lbs flank steak or skirt steak
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- Juice of 1 lime
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
- 1 red bell pepper, sliced
- 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
- 1 green bell pepper, sliced
- 1 medium red onion, sliced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- Fresh cilantro, chopped
- Sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Avocado or guacamole
- Salsa or pico de gallo
Instructions:
- Marinate the Beef:
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lime juice, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Coat the steak in the marinade and let it rest for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for deeper flavor).
- Cook the Steak:
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer for desired doneness.
- Transfer to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Sauté the Vegetables:
- In the same skillet, add 1 tbsp olive oil and toss in the sliced peppers and onion.
- Sauté for 5-6 minutes until softened and slightly charred. Season with salt and black pepper.
- Assemble & Serve:
- Garnish with fresh cilantro, sour cream, avocado, and salsa as desired.
Pro Tip:
For an extra smoky flavor, cook the steak on an outdoor grill and char the veggies in a cast-iron skillet!
