Business Bootcamp: He Was Ready to Sell. The Number Wasn't Close

A business owner called me not long ago ready to sell. He had been at it for years, was tired, and had a number in his head that he needed to retire comfortably.

When we completed a benchmark assessment, it was not close.

He was not running a bad business. He had good customers, a solid support team, and strong recurring revenue. The problem was his grasp of the numbers and his pricing structure. Neither one could hold up to scrutiny from a serious buyer.

He had a real foundation to work with. He and his team cleaned up the financials, rebuilt the pricing model around actual job costing, and gave him the clarity to show a buyer exactly what they were getting. A year later we sold the business for twice my initial valuation.

That story is why I put this workshop together.

On Wednesday, March 25, I am hosting Business Bootcamp through the Roseville Area Chamber of Commerce. It is a 90-minute working session at the Roseville Venture Lab where we go through a 20-point self-assessment that shows you exactly where your business stands across every major driver of value. You walk out knowing what your gaps are and what to work on first.

If you have ever wondered what your business is actually worth, or what it would take to make it worth more, this session is for you. Seating is limited.
