Best workout for your personality type

Happy Thursday, !
Hereโs something interestingโฆ
A new study out of London suggests that the kind of exercise you enjoy (and stick with) might be written into your personality.
Hereโs what they found:
1. Your personality influences your workout style ๐ฅ
โ Extraverts liked fast-paced and social workouts like HIIT classes.
โ Agreeable folks preferred slower, more predictable options.
โ Neurotic types (aka worriers) didnโt like intense workouts, but they got the best stress-busting results from their workouts than other types.
โ Open-minded people enjoyed trying new formats.
โ Conscientious types tended to have a higher fitness level and were the most consistent with their workouts, regardless of โfun.โ
2. Fitness isnโt just physical
โ People with more anxious or self-critical tendencies experienced the biggest reduction in stressโฆ even when they didnโt enjoy the workouts.
So what does this mean for you?
Wellโฆ it turns out the old โjust do itโ mindset might be less helpful than weโve been led to believe for some people.
Instead, you can work with your personality to build consistency and results, without burning out or forcing it.
Hereโs a quick guide:
๐ฏExtraverted
Group classes, HIIT, circuit training, high-energy fitness with social vibes.
๐ค Agreeable
Walking, low-impact strength training, or steady-paced workouts that feel calm and non-competitive.
๐ฌ Neurotic (Worrier)
Short, structured sessions like 20-minute strength circuits or low-stress cardio.
๐ Open to New Experiences
New formats like TRX, kettlebells, or movement flows that keep things fresh without overwhelming you.
๐ Conscientious
Structured programs with clear progress tracking and built-in recovery days.
Think back over the activities youโve done in the past that left you feeling stronger, less anxious, happier, and fitter?
Start there, and let consistency do the rest.
Another thing that helps? And it helps EVERYONEโฆ
๐ Support and accountability.
