Here Are 6 Simple Fixes That Actually Work…

→ Start with a carbon pitcher filter

Look for an NSF-certified pitcher filter. These help reduce chlorine taste, heavy metals like lead, and even some PFAS “forever chemicals.”

→ Ditch single-use plastic bottles

Heat + plastic = more contaminants like BPA, phthalates, and microplastics in your drink.

Swap for stainless steel or glass when you can.

→ Keep your water out of heat + direct sunlight

When your bottle is left in a hot car or on a sunny windowsill, bacteria thrive and flavors change fast.

Treat your water like fresh food — cool, dark storage keeps it clean and crisp.

→ Wash your water bottle daily

Biofilm (a.k.a. bacterial slime) can start building up in 24-48 hours.

A 30-second soap + hot water rinse — or the dishwasher — keeps things fresh.

→ Add Minerals or Citrus

⅛ tsp of unrefined sea salt or a splash of lemon gives your water electrolytes, which help your cells hydrate.

→ Replace your filters on schedule

Most pitcher filters = 40 gallons or about 2 months.

Overused filters can start leaking contaminants back into your water.

Don’t overthink it.

Drinking more water is GREAT... but if your water is full of plastic particles, bacteria, or filter gunk… you're not doing your body any favors.

If you’re working on:

✔ lowering inflammation

✔ balancing hormones

✔ boosting energy

✔ feeling better in your body

…it's a good idea to check in with your water.

Start with one small upgrade and build from there.
