Can we all agree that perfection is exhausting? ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Well, one of the biggest myths out there is that you have to get everything right to make progress.

You know how it goesโ€ฆ

If you miss one workout or splurge a little too much, you feel like youโ€™ve blown it, so you give up entirely. Sound familiar?

But hereโ€™s the truth: True success isnโ€™t about being perfect โ€” itโ€™s about being consistent, even when things arenโ€™t ideal.

You have two choices. You can:

  • Crush one โ€œperfectโ€ week of workouts and meal prep, then burn out and do nothing for the next three.
  • OR show up at 80% (or more!) every week for months, even when life throws you curveballs.

Which one do you think gets better results?

Spoiler: Itโ€™s the second one.

Here are two POWERFUL strategies to rewire your mindset for consistency:

1. Celebrate โ€œNon-Zeroโ€ Days.

This concept comes from the idea that any effort is better than none. Walk for 10 minutes? Do a few push-ups? Add a side of veggies to your dinner? Itโ€™s a win. The goal is to avoid having a day where you do nothing for your goals.

  • Some of my clients have a โ€˜Non-Zero Jarโ€™ where they put in a quarter every day they do something for their healthโ€”no matter how small.

2. Use the 2-Minute Rule.

On days when motivation is low, tell yourself you only need to do two minutes. Just two! Thatโ€™s usually enough to get you started and of course, youโ€™ll likely want to keep going! But even if you do stop, youโ€™ve still kept the habit alive. (Plus itโ€™ll count as a non-zero day ๐Ÿ˜‰)

  • One of my clients uses this trick with meal prep. She tells herself sheโ€™ll just chop veggies for two minutes. Most of the time, she ends up prepping everything she planned for.

Perfection gets you stuck. Consistency keeps you moving forward.

Itโ€™s not about being perfect โ€” itโ€™s about showing up, over and over again.

Hereโ€™s to progress, not perfection,
