Enjoying Thanksgiving without regrets

Happy Wednesday,!
Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I can already smell the turkey roasting! It's my favorite holiday, and I hope you and your family are gearing up for a wonderful celebration filled with all your favorite foods.
Yes, you read that right ā all your favorite foods. I'm giving you full permission to enjoy them. Why? Because one day of indulgence isn't going to derail your health or undo all your hard work. That said, there are a few simple strategies you can use to keep things under control, so you don't end up feeling like an overstuffed turkey yourself.
First, slow down. It's probably the most effective tool we have for controlling calories, but it's one that most of us forget about when faced with a table full of delicious dishes. Think about all the time and love that went into preparing your Thanksgiving meal. Honor that by taking your time to really savor each bite. When you eat slowly, you'll naturally eat less, enjoy the food more and feel satisfied rather than stuffed when you're done.
Next, don't starve yourself leading up to the big meal. It might seem logical to "save up" calories by skipping meals earlier in the day, but trust me, this is a recipe for disaster. If your Thanksgiving feast is happening around lunchtime, make sure you eat a complete breakfast including protein. If it's a dinner affair, have a normal breakfast and a light lunch. Going into the meal feeling starving is a surefire way to overeat.
If you find yourself needing to snack throughout the day, reach for fruits and veggies. They're packed with water to keep you hydrated (which is especially helpful if you're enjoying a holiday cocktail) and fiber to help regulate your blood sugar and keep your hunger in check.
Remember, Thanksgiving is about gratitude and togetherness. You don't need to avoid all your favorite foods ā that's not the point. The goal is to enjoy the day, the company, and yes, the food ⦠without going overboard. By following these simple tips, you can savor all the flavors of the holiday without regret.
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, great company and plenty to be thankful for.
Keep up the good work,
