MYTH vs TRUTH

Happy Friday, !
๐ซ MYTH: Eating fat makes you fat, 'You need to exercise every day,' 'Stretching prevents all injuries."
โ TRUTH: Healthy fats are essential for hormone balance. Rest days are crucial for recovery and progress; while beneficial, stretching alone doesn't prevent all injuries.
Let's break this down ๐
If you want to get active again in your 40s, not taking enough rest days can actually slow your progress.
Hereโs whyโฆ
1๏ธโฃ Your body needs time to repair and strengthen after intense workouts. Without proper rest, you risk overtraining and potential injuries.
2๏ธโฃ Rest days don't mean complete inactivity. Light activities like walking or gentle stretching can aid recovery.
3๏ธโฃ While consistency is key in any fitness routine, that doesn't mean daily intense workouts. A well-structured routine includes both challenging sessions and recovery periods."
I know it seems like working out every day will get you to where you want to be fasterโฆ
But this approach often leads to burnout, increased risk of injury, and can actually hurt your progress.
Instead, try incorporating 1-2 rest days per week into your routine. These days can be used for light activities, dynamic mobility, stretching, Qigong (movement meditation), or focusing on other aspects of your health, such as nutrition or stress management.
Everyone is different, but this is a good place to start!
