Where Do You Go When Your Heart Hurts? A gift

Dear ,

Valentine’s week brings a certain kind of noise — hearts, flowers, chocolate, and reminders of the love we’re “supposed” to be celebrating.

But for many people, the week feels different.

It can stir loneliness, old grief, the ache of relationships that ended… or the quiet emptiness inside relationships that continue. It can remind you of what was lost, what never arrived, or what you’re still healing through.

If any part of that speaks to you, I want to offer something gentler than advice, and more human than a seasonal expectation.

I created a simple, beautiful ritual for you:

“When Your Heart Needs More Than Chocolate.”

It’s a 3–5 minute practice you can do tonight, tomorrow, or anytime this week — a way to come home to yourself, breathe, and feel held rather than hurried.

Inside it, you’ll place a hand on your heart.

Ask it what it truly needs.

Let the truth rise.

Let tenderness meet you where the ache is.

And return to the steadiness that lives beneath everything else.

Because your heart deserves more than a performance of love.

It deserves truth, care, and the kind of presence that doesn’t disappear when the day ends.

Here's the ritual.

May it meet you exactly where you are.
