Where Do You Keep Your Thoughts?

Hey !
I was at a conference in Denmark the other day and met some really cool people from all over the world. We had come together to run a training camp for around 50 leaders from various parts of the globe. While chatting and interviewing them about what made them successful, two ideas kept coming up: constantly expressing gratitude and consistently seeking clarity for the next move.
This is where the power of journaling becomes abundantly clear. Journaling allows us to record our thoughts and acknowledge them. A journal is a place to be honest with yourself, a spot that is truly your own.
Personally , I began journaling when I was 16. This practice was introduced to me as a way to help make a major decision in my life.
At that time, my dream was to become a nun. Sister Marie Chin invited me to start reflecting on my thoughts – what was drawing me to the convent and the ideas that contradicted my dream of becoming a nun.
Through daily journaling, I clarified my thoughts about the convent—what I liked, what I didn’t like, the struggles I anticipated, and the emotions that serving the poorest of the poor stirred within me.
, When I was raped at eighteen, my journal became my lifeline. It was the only place I didn’t have to pretend. I could pour out my heart—cussing, screaming, asking for God to take me from this earth. It was also the place I returned to every time I was afraid. As I sought spiritual direction or had deep conversations with friends, my journal became the starting point for my reflections on who I am and why I am.
BTW – I did enter the convent …. I only lasted 13 months LOL.
Today, 40 years later, I am still journaling. My colleagues at that meeting shared similar thoughts with me. Journaling gave them that open space to just be.
BTW, I do have a couple journals for sale on my estore. You can check out the 30 day journal - I am enough for just $7.00 here https://drhtheconfidencebuilder.com/product/i-am-enough-journal/
Do you journal ? Please share your experience with me.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Dr H
