When You Have So Much to Do… and Still Can’t Start
May 03, 2026 5:27 pm
Dear ,
Today, I felt it too.
That sense of having so much to do…
and not quite knowing where to begin.
A full mind.
Too many moving pieces.
Thoughts pulling in different directions.
And underneath it—
a quiet uncertainty.
Over time, I’ve come to recognize that this feeling isn’t rare.
Many people carry it.
The long list.
The pressure to move.
The awareness that things need attention…
and yet, something inside feels paused.
Not because you are lazy.
Not because you lack discipline.
But because your mind is full…
and your system is trying to catch up with everything it’s holding.
Stillness, in moments like this, is not about doing nothing.
It is about not forcing movement before there is clarity.
There is a different kind of discipline here.
The discipline to pause instead of panic.
To choose one small step instead of trying to hold everything at once.
To sit with yourself long enough for the noise to begin to settle.
You don’t need to solve everything today nor tonight.
You don’t need to have the whole plan.
You just need to begin… gently.
One step.
One decision.
One breath that creates a little more space.
Clarity doesn’t come from pressure.
It comes from presence.
If today felt like too much…
you’re not alone in that.
And you’re not behind.
You’re simply in the space before things begin to organize themselves again.
Stay there, just long enough.
Then take one small step.
With care,
Dr. Sandra Hamilton
