Holding You Through This Season

May 01, 2026 10:09 pm

Dear ,

As this day approaches…

I know it can begin to stir many things.

For some, it brings love.

For others, longing.

For some, grief that has no clear language.

And for many… it is a quiet mix of all three.

So wherever you find yourself in the days ahead, I want to begin here:

You do not have to feel any particular way.

Not joy.

Not gratitude.

Not even understanding.

Just… whatever is true for you.

If you are a woman moving toward this day—

whether through loss, absence, distance, or complexity—

I hope you move gently with yourself.

No forcing.

No performing.

No explaining.

Just softness, where you can find it.

And to the men reading this—

some of you carry your own stories of pain, absence, or silence.

This season may stir things in you too.

If it does, you are not outside of this space.

And if you have women in your life—partners, friends, sisters—

I invite you to meet them with a little more patience in the coming days.

A little more listening.

A little less fixing.

Sometimes the greatest kindness is simply… presence.

If this message feels like something someone else may need,

you are welcome to share it.

You never really know who is holding something quietly right now.

If it would support you, I’ve created a small card you can sit with—

something simple to return to in a quiet moment.

There is no pressure to use it. Just a gift, if you need it.Over the next few days, I’ll be sending a few gentle offerings—things you can return to in your own time.

Until then…

Be with yourself in the way you most need.

Warmly,

Dr Sandra Hamilton
