, I feel that Daddy should be a girl’s fist valentine. He should be telling you from the womb how much he loves you, how beautiful you are, that you are special and one of a kind. So that when you’re grown or growing… no man can easily sway you with sweet words. After all, this is what you’re accustomed to. You’ll know what it feels like to be truly and wonderfully loved. Your standards will be high and you will expect and demand that same love from every other man in your life. 

...And I hear a few people screaming that I have no idea what they've been through... what their father did to them. Abuse is never ok. Taking away the trust that a child should have for a parent is never ok. I have heard so many horror stories. Some of you carry deep wounds from fathers who should have protected you but didn’t. If that’s you, I see you. I hear you. From the bottom of my heart, I feel your pain.

So, Fathers, this valentine, make sure that your daughters and their mothers know that true love is not all about sex. Its about respect, caring, being there in times of confusion, giving that shoulder to cry on without expecting anything in return.  

A good person just is there for another person.
