Throwback moment

Dear ,

Today I found an old picture of my younger brother and I. Here we are at the installation banquet for the president of the Institute of Engineers.

This wasn't a picture that we posed for. It captures a moment frozen in time when I was so inordinately proud to call this man family. As I stood there, I understood what it takes to rise and the pressure and accountability of the position.

Leadership isn’t accidental. It’s forged in discipline, integrity, long nights, and unwavering commitment to a vision greater than yourself. I’ve watched him live that truth for years. He earned this title of President of the institute that oversees all professional engineers on the island, and to have your colleagues decide that you are worthy is no mean feat.

Moments like this are sentimental and sacred. Because when someone you love ascends, it affirms everything you believe in: that excellence matters. That legacy matters. That quiet service and mastery eventually speak louder than hype.

And let’s be honest: not everyone gets to stand in rooms like this.

Not everyone understands what it costs to earn respect, not just attention.

Not everyone holds the kind of space that draws powerfully capable people toward lasting transformation.

But I do.

And he does.

We come from people who build systems, stories, futures, bridges.

I'm honored to walk beside leaders. To help them rise without apology. And to witness those I love step fully into the spotlight they’ve earned.

Here’s to those who lead not for applause, but for impact.

And here’s to those of us who were born for rooms like this.

So today, I’ll leave you with two questions to carry into your week:

Where in your life have you been leading without realizing it—holding space, creating stability, or inspiring others just by showing up?

What would shift if you finally saw yourself as a leader—not in title, but in how you care, carry, and create change?

You don’t need permission to lead. You’re already doing it. Now it's time to own it—with grace, with boundaries, and with deep inner clarity.
