Subject: Honoring Your Truth This Mother’s Day 💛
May 11, 2025 10:55 pm
Dear ,
Mother’s Day can be a beautiful celebration for many — but for some, it carries a different kind of weight.
If your relationship with your mother was marked by pain, neglect, or abuse, today may feel complicated, confusing, or even unbearable.
I want you to know: you are not alone .
Your feelings are valid. Your story matters. And you do not have to force gratitude or love where there has been hurt.
It’s okay to grieve what you didn’t receive.
It’s okay to feel anger or sadness or nothing at all.
And it’s more than okay to protect your peace today.
Instead of traditional celebration, perhaps today can be a quiet honoring — of your resilience…
Of the ways you’ve learned to care for yourself…
Of the healing you’ve fought for, step by step.
Maybe you’re learning to mother yourself now — with compassion, courage, and care.
Maybe you’re creating a new story of love, one where you finally feel safe and seen. Whatever this day brings up for you, please be gentle with yourself. You are worthy. You are healing. And you are enough — exactly as you are.
With tenderness,
Dr. H

P.S. A journal prompt for you today:
“What kind of love, safety, or care did I long for as a child — and how can I begin to offer that to myself now?”
Let the words flow. No judgment. Just truth.
P.P.S.
Each week, I’ll send you a new message and journal page to support your healing journey. If you ever miss one, you can always visit the website to download previous prompts and reflections.
The pages for this are on my trauma healing website -Sandrahamilton.co and not on Dr H. ... But it's still me! :)
