Can You See It?

Tender Tuesday:
And then the land opened.
And there it was.
The view I almost couldn't see.
Last week, as a few of us gathered, relaxed, laughed, ate, talked-or sometimes just sat quietly-I found myself thinking about that view.
Because sometimes the most beautiful things aren't absent.
They're simply hidden by everything in the way.
The work.
The worry.
The responsibilities.
The grief.
The constant feeling that we should be doing something.
Last weekend, we did something wonderfully radical.
We did nothing.
And people came.
Some couldn't make it. Life got in the way-illness, loss, responsibilities.
You were missed.
But for those who were able to come, thank you for giving yourself permission to pause.
To breathe.
To be around people without having to accomplish anything.
To simply enjoy being alive.
And as I looked at this view, I thought:
Maybe this is what stillness does.
It clears just enough space for us to see what was there all along.
The joy.
The possibility.
The beauty.
The life waiting for us.
And to those who found it hard to sit still and do absolutely nothing... 😊
To those who walked the paths and discovered their innate beauty.
To those who stayed in their tents, or simply stayed outside and absorbed the wonder of creation (and got moon burn to boot!)
For the songs and stories around the fire
For the bravery to taste fresh ripe pimento (all spice) - should I tell you that even though I reap and sell it, I had never tried it before! Thanks for to Joannie for giving us a fresh, powerful, explosive taste.
For those who came, I have a little reminder of the wonderful day we spent together.
I'll send it soon. ❤️
Because sometimes, we don't need to create another memory.
We simply need something to remind us of the ones we already made.
Thank you, thank you thank you.
The day could not have been the same without you.
Remember , Don't get so busy getting somewhere that you miss the view. ❤️
.
With love,
Dr Sandra Hamilton
