Dear humans, we're sorry we're scatterbrained.

Dear humans,

It has been a while. We think today is Sunday. It's the day after the Stupid People Illegally Firing off Fireworks Day and Terrifying Us Nightmare Hellhole Night. That means it is July 5, 2020.

We didn't appreciate yesterday at all.

We have some updates for you! We are going to be doing this in a somewhat haphazard fashion. We're sorry for that. We're scatterbrained. The female needs to finish Booked for Murder today. She's now 5 days late.

That means she will have to work harder this month to get everything else finished. This makes her sad. She will cope.

She also has to start losing weight, but... that's a different story. Exercise triggers anxiety, and the female has a new prescription to help her exercise without the awful anxiety. We'll see how it works in time. The female does not need more anxiety, she has enough as it is!

And no Dr. Google today; the female has the help of an actual doctor who takes her seriously. You do not know her special brand of health issues that mean exercise does not fire happy hormones, so please don't comment today on it.

She has enough anxiety for you, and you, and you, and you, and your entire family, too. Let's skip that extra source of it today.

We just wanted to let you know the State of the Blain.

Which brings us to the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD High Country, in a pretty shade of dark blue, that the female is acquiring for the male for his birthday and 18th anniversary. Also for Christmas, possibly next year's birthday, possibly the Christmas after that, into eternity and beyond...

We visit it on Tuesday. I have two dealerships lined up against each other, although we prefer the one dealership that has it in blue. The other dealership has the same one we want in white, but they have a slightly different version in red as well. But we want the blue one. It's just a matter of making the money go from point c to point a with however many side trips on the way as is required because money is not in the place where the money is useful for such a purchase.

The human's car is a 2006 Toyota Corolla with a quarter of a million miles. It was time.

In good news... the next new car is the female's. The male said so. In... however many years it takes for them to decide to become a two vehicle household.

Honestly, we do not foresee the female getting her vehicle anytime soon.

Step one towards getting a trailer shall be accomplished soon.

Beyond that, the female is alive, mostly well, and exhausted. Really kinda tired of a lot of things. Very tired of the relentless demands of the book-writing world.

Very, very tired of how there are a lot of readers who are upset the female is only releasing fourteen books in 2020. Why isn't this book being done faster? When will this series that makes no money be completed? Can you hurry up on this book?

Fourteen books in a year is an average of 4,000 words written a day with zero breaks between any of the books. No days off. If a day off is taken, she has to write more words in a day.

2021 is going to have a maximum of 6 preorders done, and that is all she is promising will be actually completed in 2021.

She would like to finish everything faster, but the faster she releases, the more pressured she is by readers who want the next book now.

She's human, and she's tired.

The female will be completely three novels in July to make sure she is done her work on time. After that, she still has five more novels she has to complete in 2020, then she has virtually no break before the next releases roll out.

She's human, and she's tired.

So, please don't pressure her too hard about what's coming out in 2021. She understands readers like the book and are excited for the next ones, but please remember she is human, and she's a very tired human, and she wants to write for the fun of it in 2021, not because people will be upset if they do not receive one book or more a month in 2021.

But at least on Tuesday, she will emerge from the prison of an apartment to meet and greet with the truck. That's exciting!

(Money is stupid and it's hard to move around! Why must money be stupid?)

Thank you for being human. Thank you for being honest about the pressures of being an author. Thank you for showing success can be stressful. Thank you for caring enough to be honest. This is the first time I have read your newsletter. I love the books. ALL of the books, under every name. As much as I eagerly await my next 'fix', I am happy to wait so the author can be happy and healthy and enjoy writing the books that have helped me laugh (and snort, in public!) so often. Once again, thank you.
