Personal Updates

Hey ,

I'm in the process of creating a new program to help business professionals find the courage to do what matters most to them in their lives and businesses, ultimately building, leveraging, and monetizing their influence.

Fear, worry, and anxiety prevent them from taking the necessary actions to drive their business forward.

They feel stuck, indecisive, and lack the confidence to take meaningful steps in both their personal and professional lives.

They believe they should be able to use their skills and experience to make a significant impact and succeed in areas that matter most to them.

So I'm inviting only 3 people for a 1-on-1 call if you feel this looks like you.

The purpose of the call is purely to understand your context so I can create a product that meets your needs.

In return, you get coaching (and maybe therapy), and we work through any issues you have that we can fix in the 30-minute call. Schedule Your Free Call Now

Quick Summary

  • We discuss the current trend towards interdisciplinary learning and how it can lead to personal and professional fulfilment.
  • Key takeaways include identifying valuable skill combinations, leveraging interdisciplinary knowledge, and using strategic messaging to build your authority.

How to Be the Best in the World at Something Unique

In today's evolving world, being the best at one thing is becoming outdated.

The Age of AI makes it crucial to develop a unique combination of skills.

This Report will share the philosophy and practicality of talent stacking - something I've been doing for quite some time.

Talent stacking means combining different skills to create a personal monopoly.

By stacking your talents, you can carve out a niche where you are the best in the world.

Talent stacking leverages diverse skills to create unique value.

It's not about excelling at one thing; it's about being very good at several things that, when combined, make you irreplaceable.

Scott Adams, creator of the Dilbert comic, said, “When you add my ordinary business skills, my strong work ethic, my risk tolerance, and my reasonably good sense of humor, I’m fairly unique. And in this case, that uniqueness has commercial value.”

The Second Renaissance and the Age of AI

We are in the midst of a second renaissance, driven by the creator economy and the rise of AI.

People no longer rely on traditional jobs and education to secure their futures.

Instead, they turn to self-education and leverage technology to pursue their passions.

The internet and AI have democratised opportunities, making it possible for anyone with a unique combination of skills to succeed.

Growing up in a country like Nigeria, I realized one day that I am a 10-talent man living in a 2-talent country.

As a child, fear was my constant companion — I lived every day in worry, haunted by nightmares of ghosts or falling from the sky.

These experiences instilled in me a deep resilience and a desire to lead my life in a direction that truly mattered to me.

Talent Stacking Makes You The Niche

Your niche is not a market segment; it's an expression of your core message and values.

In my experience and work with other people, what has worked as an approach to niching down is starting with a message supported by your interests, skills, and passions.

This way, even if your focus changes, your message can adapt, keeping your work exciting and relevant.

For example, when I was podcasting, I got feedback that my show gave listeners the courage to pursue their goals.

When I became a certified life coach, confidence was the central theme, while when I began providing therapy, it was about overcoming fear.

These all tie back to my core message: the audacity to lead your life and business in a direction that matters to you.

My experience with fear became useful.

How to Build Your Unique Skill Stack

Look for skills that are rarely found together but complement each other well.

For instance:

  • Design + Business:
  • Combining aesthetics with market understanding can help create products that look good and sell well. That's what I do as a UX/UI designer.
  • Storytelling + Coding:
  • This combination allows for the creation of engaging, interactive narratives through digital platforms.
  • Business principles + Data analysis:
  • Merging these can lead to innovative business solutions based on solid data insights.

How do you develop a unique skll stack?

Pursue diverse skills and integrate them into your existing knowledge base.

Follow your curiosity and learn by doing.

But you want those skills to be related in some way, but not too similar.

For example, if you’re in the top 1% in journalism, also being in the top 1% in writing skills isn’t going to be a big differentiator.

Most top journalists are good writers.

What’s different about stacking is having skills that not only work together but are varied enough to make you stand out.

For example, with a background in design, neuroscience, systems thinking, cognitive and behavioral psychology, and combined with my experience as a therapist and digital media consultant...

This unique blend allows me to see connections that others might miss.

Women and Multitasking

I've observed my wife, and many other women.

Women are often natural skill stackers due to their ability to multitask.

Managing a household involves chemistry (cooking), psychology (children), and management (running a home).

[Let me stop there before I enter biology]

This multi-dimensional approach can be applied in professional settings to great effect.

How to Earn a Living as a Skill Stacker

1. Choose a career path that doesn’t box you into one specific skill or interest.

For example, by combining design, digital media consulting, blogging, and podcasting, you can create a unique brand that attracts a broad audience.

That's what I did back then.

2. Build a Portfolio of Income Sources

Most of us, our jobs aren't enough.

Launch products around your successful ideas.

Monetize with courses, cohorts, templates, systems, or tutorials.

Regularly launch new products to keep your audience engaged and diversify your income streams.

Conclusion

You can create a personal monopoly where you are the best in the world at your unique combination of skills.

This approach enhances your career prospects and makes your work more fulfilling and diverse.

Remember, it's not about being the best at one thing; it's about being very good at several things that, when combined, make you irreplaceable.
