Let’s Celebrate International Beer Day Together 🍺
Did you know that every year, the first Friday of August is International Beer Day? Since 2007 the date has grown to be another fun excuse to gather with friends and promote local breweries or beer-serving businesses!
The Mexican Caribbean is certainly a great place to celebrate this awesome day (did you know that Mexico is one of the Top-3 beer exporters in the world? 😱). Delight yourself with some tasty beers while the weather and beach scenery provide you with a unique and magical atmosphere.

1) Chela de Playa (Playa del Carmen)
This amazing brewery has its own factory in Playa del Carmen and uses high-quality ingredients to achieve the characteristic taste of its beers. Their shop + restaurant is located on 38th Avenue between 5th and 1st street, just a few blocks from the beach⛱️ Chela de Playa is one of the most beloved beers in the Riviera Maya and that’s why it is our number one recommendation.
2) El Grifo (Tulum)
This lovely spot is located on Tulum's main avenue and is well-known for its love for craft beers and mezcal. They have so many different types of beer that you won’t be able to decide on just a single one, that’s a fact🤩 The cheerful beer packaging displayed on the walls and shelves give this place a special vibe. You’ve been warned: there are some extra weird beers here that you won’t find anywhere else (like cacao, tangerine and vanilla flavored)!
3) Club de la Cerveza (Playa del Carmen)
Located on fifth avenue, Club de la Cerveza stands out for its large variety of artisanal Mexican and imported beers (mainly from Belgium, Germany and USA). Their large and well-decorated bar, along with the good atmosphere is a real treasure. 🔥 Hot tip: Sometimes they have 2x1 promotions from 3pm to 7pm; you can thank us later!
4) El Estadio (Cancún)
El Estadio is a very enjoyable restaurant located in Downtown Cancún that specializes in craft beer. This energetic spot is famous for having live rock bands 👨🏽🎤 and is also a great place to watch important sport events. Furthermore, you can accompany the tasty craft beers with a delicious traditional Mexican dish.
5) CMC - Colectivo Mexicano Cervecero
How about having a tasty craft beer while enjoying a jazz live session? Well, Colectivo Mexicano Cervecero will make your wish come true. They have a curated selection of national and international craft beers. One of the Playenses’ favorite laidback spots to chill and just enjoy a moment with friends (or a date); truly recommended.
