Hi ,
This email comes to you at a time of crisis.
For the last two years, a global pandemic has been at the foremost of our minds and lives, reconfiguring our view of the world. But now, Europe is in the grip of war. That's a statement that hasn't been said in many a decade. Grim, I know. I'd be remised not to touch on current events and long for a resolution.
I sincerely hope you or your family has not been affected.
War and conflict has and continues to be the central focus of many works of fiction. A principle law of storytelling is that we must have conflict whether that be kingdoms at war (Lord of the Rings), or a family squabble (every soap ever). It's almost as if we enjoy the grim nature of division.

To steer us into better times, I've joined a promotion that is all about tales of the future. The great thing about the future, unlike the stained past, is it's a blank canvas. We can make of it whatever we want. Star Trek trends towards the optimistic. Metro, the dystopian. The Expanse, somewhere in the middle.
So I'd like to know what are some of your favourite renditions of the future? There'll be no judging here if you cast your lot with Wall-e. (A sentient trash compactor who cleans up our mess while we coast it out in the great beyond? Sounds about right!)
And a special shout-out to -
And a special treat on Kindle Unlimited from a featured favourite -
That's all for this time.
The last week has been quite something! Let's hope the future ahead of us is something better and leave the worst of it on the page.
Have a great read!
