Hey everyone! I'm thrilled to share how I'm integrating AI into my external brain concept. It's incredible how the latest advancements are transforming productivity. Let me walk you through a few exciting examples of how this works in real-life scenarios.

Dual Meetings with AI Assistance

Just last night, I had to attend two overlapping meetings: an orientation for the Affordable Housing, Racial, Economic, and Social Equity board and the first board meeting of the year for the Jewish Center. Thanks to Otter AI, I managed to participate in both. Otter AI joined my Zoom call as “Ari's Note Taker,” recording and transcribing the meeting live. While I was physically on my way to the Jewish Center meeting, I kept track of the ongoing orientation call via Otter's live transcription.

Enhancing Meeting Productivity

Using Otter AI was a game-changer. I set it up to record and take notes during the committee meeting, which allowed me to attend the Jewish Center meeting seamlessly. After the committee meeting ended, Otter provided a summary and action items, which I promptly sent to the meeting host, impressing her with the efficiency.

The External Brain Concept

With AI's improved capabilities, I've started using individual ChatGPT threads as external brains for various groups and boards I'm involved in. For the Affordable Housing board, I loaded documents like the PowerPoint presentation, meeting minutes, and agendas into ChatGPT. It summarizes and extracts key points, providing valuable insights whenever I need them.

Running for the School Board

As I'm running for the school board, I've created a dedicated ChatGPT thread for it, containing board minutes, budget presentations, community surveys, and even information from previous candidates. This comprehensive data helps me formulate my platform and vision for the district. It’s been invaluable during conversations with current board members, allowing me to provide data-driven insights in real-time.

Real-Time Information Access

During a call with a board member, I used ChatGPT to quickly access budget details, which helped me discuss the misallocation of resources effectively. This immediate access to information enhances my ability to contribute meaningfully and demonstrate a deep understanding of the district's needs.

AI as a Contextual Tool

Using AI in this way provides me with unparalleled context for decision-making. It's not just about having unlimited memory but about having the right context to serve better and make impactful decisions, especially in areas affecting our kids and community taxes.

Embracing AI as an external brain has been transformative. It allows me to manage my commitments more effectively and stay on top of various responsibilities. The integration of AI tools like Otter and ChatGPT into my workflow has significantly enhanced my productivity and ability to contribute meaningfully to all my endeavors.
