Happy July, friends!
I'm sneaking my newsletter in at the end of the month again...are you noticing a pattern? :) In my defense, a storm took out our internet earlier this week, which definitely threw off some of my work plans. I've also been busy caring for and loving on the newest member of our family! Meet Theo, the adorable bunny friend who we adopted last weekend :)
We're finding that rabbits can be quite messy, but he's also entertaining, affectionate, and such a sweetheart. We met five different bunnies at the adoption event we attended, and my kids all fell in love with this guy right off the bat. He has the softest fur and isn't startled by my kids' antics - a perfect fit for our family!
But before our new bunny added some fun and chaos to our lives, I made some serious writing progress! I completed my first pass of what I'd already written for the third book in my Tales of the Mystics series, and most of it's in better shape than I expected! I also dove in and wrote thousands of words of new scenes. I'm hoping to stay on track to finish this manuscript by the end of the year, and maybe even sneak in a bonus project :)
If you follow me on social media, you might have seen the exciting news that The Dancer and the Dragon Speaker recently passed the 100-review mark on Amazon! This book has been my most popular ever since it released, and I'm so grateful for all the love you guys have shown this fun fairy tale mashup. So to celebrate, I commissioned artwork from H.S.J. Williams! Didn't it turn out lovely? I just love the facial expressions and the details of the dragon's scales. I'm planning some kind of giveaway involving the artwork in the near future - but I'd love your input! Do you prefer artwork in the form of postcards? Stickers? Something else? With or without a quote from the book? Let me know what you think, and I'll keep you posted about the giveaway!
Time for me to get back to writing :) Have a fantastic August!
Book Spotlights
Have you read any of Abigail Manning's books yet? She's known for writing clean romantasy with the craziest plot twists, and Fit for a Prince looks amazing! I can't get enough of that cover, and an enemies-to-more, arranged marriage romance sounds so swoony and exciting. It releases TOMORROW!
Dragon lovers, I have a new recommendation for you! Retired dragon riders, mystery, slow-burn romance...I can't wait for A Dragon Rider's Guide to Retirement to release next week!
Old grudges, magical dragons, and one cozy, nosy village—what could possibly go right?
And here's yet another gorgeous cover with such an intriguing premise - forbidden magic and a mystery to solve in Victorian London! Jessica Scarlett is a new-to-me author, but considering the rave reviews Town of Shadows has been receiving, I can't wait to read this new romantasy!
