Hello reader friends!
We're a month into summer, and I'm still waiting for life to slow down a bit! But maybe with four kiddos that's just not very realistic... So far, it's been Vacation Bible School (a fun, chaotic week!), trips to the pool, getting together with friends, and a lovely venture to Wisconsin for a family reunion. All great things, so I can't complain about the busy-ness!
In my writing world, editing continues to be slow on Book 3 in my Tales of the Mystics series. But progress is progress! Most of my efforts were instead directed toward an interview for the Online Author Summit and a presentation for Writers Chat, an online writing community. The interview went well, though I'm sure I babbled a bit since that's what I do when I'm nervous :) But the interviewer was so gracious, and I love her idea to put together a set of interviews with clean fantasy writers to share with readers and aspiring authors! I'll keep you posted once the event is live.
For the presentation, they chose one of the few subjects that could get me excited about public speaking - Romantasy! I had a lot of fun putting together my talk, and I think it went well! The group had some really insightful comments and questions. If you'd like to see the presentation, you can find it on their YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StJnRptyPW4. They have tons of videos of past discussions as well, and any writers who are interested in joining their community can check out their Facebook group: Facebook. It's fun to tiptoe out of my comfort zone once in a while, but I'll admit I'm ready to have a less nerve-wracking July :)
I'm afraid the Big Surprise Announcement is still under wraps for now, but small behind-the-scenes progress is being made! In the meantime, feel free to check out my Instagram for my new silly hobby - writing Review Haikus for the books I'm reading :) Have a wonderful month, and I can't wait to connect with you in July!
P.S. There's an AMAZING giveaway happening right now! Brianna Lynn Campbell is on a mission to get more clean indie books in libraries, so she put together a huge list of clean books from every age group and genre. And for each of the books you request at your local library, you get an entry in a giveaway for 90+ books by Christian authors in every genre and format. Good luck!
Book Spotlights
Have you read any books by Candice Pedraza Yamnitz yet? She writes exciting, swoony (but very clean!) YA with such a fun Latin twist! Her latest novella, Reckless, just released earlier this month. A former assassin trying to break the usurped prince she loves out of prison - talk about a suspenseful adventure!
I was shocked to realize I haven't shared about any books from the Tethered Hearts series yet! Time to rectify that situation :) This series features swoony clean romance involving magical bonds and includes some of my favorite authors! In Ties of Shadow by Alora Carter, a noblewoman flees a devastating prophecy only to end up at the mercy of the shadow lord she thought was her kingdom's enemy... Eeep, I can't wait to read it!
Megan Lynn Rose is a new author to me, but I'm always looking for more clean YA romantic fantasy! Especially when it comes with a gorgeous cover :) Forest of Truth, Book 3 in The Broken Kingdom Series, released on June 21st!
The war between light and dark has begun. In a journey of choosing sides and more betrayal, can Ellie end the bloodshed and defeat the Dark Witch once and for all? Or will darkness finally conquer the light?
