The bane of the English teacher’s existence is the sheer volume of grading we “need” to do.
Ever since the one-room schoolhouse, students have been eking out essays … and we in turn sacrifice our evenings and weekends squeezing comments into margins … comments that often don’t get read … and comments that really do not yield better writers.
It’s so FRUSTRATING and soul-crushing!
Traditional grading methods don’t work for a number of reasons.
First, 99.9% of the onus of responsibility is placed on the teacher.
Think about it – who’s doing the heavy lifting?
Second, do our contracts have clauses for compulsory unpaid overtime?
In today’s video, I want to share an alternative grading method with you that not only allows you to grade a stack of essays in minutes – but a method that really helps students to grow and mature as writers.
And if you like what you see and want to take a deeper dive into my other alternative grading methods, I’ll be hosting a free webinar with Perfection Learning on April 26th.
More details to follow … so stay tuned.
