Given the nature of my work, I talk to countless secondary ELA teachers on any given week.
And if I summarize the gist of these conversations, a few things become clear:
1. We are in a high burnout profession
2. The demands of our jobs require us to work outside of our contractual hours … like … by a lot
3. There is always a heaping stack of essays to be graded
4. Lesson planning … do we ever get a break?
5. Getting our students to write well is a seemingly insurmountable task
If you’d like to come up for breath, let’s talk.
The Teach It “Write” Symposium, which starts this Sunday evening at 7 EST, just might be the answer you are looking for.
Not only will you witness your students grow and mature as writers, but you will also reclaim your evenings and weekends after you complete the 5-week course. Between incorporating my groundbreaking templates into your instructional practices, as well as my alternative grading methods, you will rest easy going forward.
