When my AP Language students heard that my AP Literature students were writing a literary analysis of Taylor Swift's "Anti-Hero," they claimed unfair favoritism and demanded equal treatment 😀
So ... I decided to cobble together an argument essay (FRQ3) centering upon the "fatphobic" controversy in the accompanying music video.
The prompt requires students to either challenge, qualify, refute, or defend Swift's stance.
In the writing workshop video, you'll find me "Bob Ross-ing" my instruction while providing teachers and students with plenty of models to demystify how to pull the strings of my templates.
We had a fantastic debate while collectively deconstructing the lyrics and music video.
