Rhetorical & Literary Terms Diss-Track

image

For those of us in the North Country of New York State, we're milking this school year for all it's worth (no signs of quitting until the fateful day of June 27th).

But all ain't bad.

I've had the pleasure of working with my future 10 Honors, AP Language, and AP Literature students a tad bit this week.

Over the years, I've noticed that as soon as we crack the spine on all the terms, devices, techniques students need at their possession to analyze text with any degree of complexity, several buckle beneath the weight before the real magic can begin.

So, as a way to combat this apparent deluge, I created a Diss-Track exercise that finds students grappling with the necessary language that often trips them up.

This is a super fun exercise with some serious pedagogical punch.

Today's brief video goes over all the necessary rules, guidelines, and setup.

Hope it helps!
