Imagine this ... an edible graphic organizer that likewise serves as a universal template to write across the expository modes!!
Students would eat that stuff up (terrible pun)!!
As I've been tinkering with my presentation for the NCTE conference, I had a major eureka moment ...
My template of the syllogistic method is basically like the old ROY G BIV acronym to remember the colors of the rainbow.
In the end, the million dollar question is this: how do we get our students to capture their brilliant thoughts cogently on paper?
In other words ... how can we help ensure that that pesky line of reasoning stay intact?
In today's writing workshop video, check out how I concoct an edible graphic organizer within the perimeters of my template to yield amazing logical progressions.
A bag of Skittles and some Elmer's Glue ... Viola!
And my friends, this is just one of the wacky brainchildren I will be presenting on December 10th in my Teaching Line of Reasoning 2-Hour Intensive.
Yet again, I am teaming up with The National Writing Project at 11 am EST live in Zoom to present my multifaceted approach to teaching line of reasoning --- I'll be showcasing how I incorporate classic children's stories, gamify instruction, as well as my other artsy & crafty concepts.
The teaching of writing is often overly pedantic.
And kids tend to intellectually shut down as a result.
Come learn how taking a Bob Ross approach to the teaching of composition can illuminate all of the proverbial light bulbs above your student's heads!
A replay will be made available and NWP is awarding PD badges of completion.
Happy teaching and happy writing!
