As I talk to new clients and people interested in offloading their social media to an agency, I often get asked the same question...

"But what are you doing to post about?"

They are usually concerned about the time it's going to take them to communicate with me. Like, will they still have to come up with content ideas? How much bandwidth will they need for this project? And how will I possibly be able to come up with this to post about?

Here are some tips that I use to create an endless amount of content:

  1. Create content pillars- general subjects that relate to your branding or your business that you can stick into a calendar.
  2. Use answerthepublic.com - type in a keyword related to your business and save the responses as a .csv. You'll get a huge list of questions people are asking the internet about your subject (note- it can only be used 1x a day).
  3. Repurpose any bits of content you have. Look to your website, emails, past social media posts. You can recreate posts and post them crossed multiple platforms.

Here's the secret sauce:

Create content that's relatable to your ideal customer...even if it really has nothing to do with you. What is your ideal customer talking about? (check FB groups, Reddit, Quora). What places do they frequent? What books do they read? What shows are they watching?

Answering those questions can really help you to create content that's relevant to them.

Whether you're ready to start putting effort into your own social media or offload it to someone else, I can help. Reply back and let me know where you're at in the process!

Content ideas for 1/17-1/21

January is National Hobby Month, and it’s always a great time to share! Anything can be made into content, and your hobbies are no exception, no matter how strange. This week, think of creative ways to work your hobbies and passions into your content to get more up close and personal with your audience.

Mon 15- This week kicks off #HuntforHappinessWeek, which sounds like an excellent reason to get out in your community while using the hashtag. Incorporating your favorite places around town, a quiet corner in the office, or just about anything you can associate with making you happy. Put it in a Reel!

Tues 16- Check in with other accounts that you follow and engage with regularly. You are following and engaging organically daily—message here for help. Choose to Remix a Reel from an account you know or a Reel you love. Click the top three dots in the right-hand corner of the Reel to select Remix. Remixing Reels is a great way to boost engagement and create supportive relationships on social media.   Start to think of your time on Instagram as community time and treat it as so!

Wed 17- #DitchNewYearsResolutionsDay Do you have a resolution you have not fulfilled? Today is the day to make a joke of it! Think of a resolution that just isn’t going to work out with your lifestyle and blast it on social media with an engaging sound and great hook title. Need help? Please message me!

Thurs 18- Choose a trending Reel that is enjoyable to you and try it out with the camera rolling, mistakes, and all. Edit the video to only the mistakes and use it as a "blooper" Reel. People will love authenticity over perfectionism.  Bloopers Reels always make for a good laugh and engagement!

Fri 19- #NationalPopcornDay #TinCanDay It may be time to throw a company-wide popcorn party and do it for the gram! Popcorn, not your thing? You are in luck! It’s also a great day to line up a few friends or employees and play a good old-fashioned game of telephone and have a few laughs on camera.

Bonus! Saturday is #GetToKnowYourCustomersDay, so search for a trending sound to ask a question with and go with it!
