Hello ,
I hope your 2021 has started with a bang! 💥 I have been feeling pretty positive so far! I am still trying to decide on my word of the year. Do you do a word? Last year mine was Clarity and I feel a gained a ton. If you do have a word, I'd love to hear what it is and why you chose it!
Social Media News you can Use:
Apple Tracking Opt-out
You may have heard that Apple's new iSO update is asking users if they want to opt-out of being tracked by an app. Of course, your first reaction is probably "absolutely!" but what does this really mean? The data collected by apps, including Facebook, is the same data used by advertisers to serve you uber targeted ads. Meaning, if Facebook isn't seeing your data, you probably will start seeing ads that don't serve you at all. Another thing to note, although advertisers use the data for targeting, they don't actually see your personal data at all. They just tell Facebook the types of targeting they want to do and Facebook targets you. So before you opt-out (which is completely up to you) don't be surprised when you don't see that super relevant and amazing reusable bag you never knew you needed any more. Read more here.
Digital Trends 2021
So you're ready to get moving on 2021 trends. The things I keep seeing are all pretty similar. Live stream events are still a go...what a way to get a bigger audience! Slashing through so many boundaries. A huge focus on inclusivity...have you focused on that in your marketing lately? And still collecting user-generated content (UGC) and influencer partnerships. Which have you been focused on? Read more here.
Improve your writing
To be a good marketer, you have to be a great communicator. This is a skill I work on daily, but I'm even more focused on it now. I recently asked a mentor group about how I can improve my writing. I was given some golden nuggets of information but the one I'm about to give you is tangible and something you can take immediate action on. They told me to rewrite the top 100 sales letters by hand. So if you're ready to take on the challenge, I'm write...er right... here with you. Download them here Then reply back and tell me if you're doing it too.

Here are 5 ideas for content for next week
(January 11th- January 15th)
Monday:
National Gluten-Free Day... Did you guys know I've been gluten-free since 2011!😯 I know, right! If you share this fact with me, this is a good day to share it with your audience. You could do a shout out to one of your favorite gluten-free brands or restaurants. You could also give tips to people who are just starting this lifestyle, or talk about why you made the switch.
Tuesday:
Tuesday Tunes- What if you created a brand playlist? You could create the playlist on Spotify and share the link with your followers. Spotify allows you to share your playlist directly to your Instagram stories or your Facebook. If you're a motivational brand, workout brand, restaurant, salon you could create a playlist that caters to any of these things. Or just one that fits the vibe of the brand.
Wednesday:
Wednesday Wisdom- Great day for a quote, or an inspirational picture with a bit of your wisdom. We need days that inspire and entertain, that's what this is for. Create a graphic on Canva, or get back to your video content and make one like this.
Thursday:
Dress up your pet day- do you know what type of content gets the most attention? Kids and pets! So dress up your pet and introduce them to your followers! What a fun day to participate in and a great way to grow reach and engagement.
Friday:
We haven't had a sales day this week, it's time! Talk about the products and services you offer. Remember, you are here to do business and make money! You can do this with a picture of yourself looking business-y or at your business and a caption listing out what you do. Remember to include a CTA (call to action). What do they need to do next? Book a call, shop on my website, message me to make an appointment? This is super important!
Here are the Hashtag Holidays for you to create content and events around next week. That link will take you to a site that has them for the rest of the year if you want to go even further.
