SO MUCH NEWS THIS MONTH!

In spite of mostly sitting with my foot up after surgery, things have been happening in my world. Good things and bad.

WHAT’S NEW

THE GOOD

***I turned in my 17th novel, but reported it in some places as my 18th because I’m very bad at math and because some of mine are temporarily out of print. It doesn’t take much to confuse me!

***The edits on that 17th, my suspense novel, SOMEONE IS OUT THERE, are nearly finished. I’m going to miss my 12/1 deadline by a bit, but not by too much, I hope.

***Right now there’s a promotion on it. 99 CENTS FROM NOW UNTIL 12/2.

You can preorder it from 13 different sources there!

***I actually presented a lesson to a local high school class. I was very nervous about it, remembering what kids my age used to do to teachers when I was in high school. But they were attentive and polite and at least some of them were actually interested in my subject, Short Story Plotting. I was able to chat with some of them afterward about their hopes.

***My son was asked to record a radio show on KUTX! It will air Saturday, 12/7, 6-7 Central time on the “My KUTX” program at https://kutx.org/shows/my-kutx/. He’ll present an awesome playlist with one of his own tunes at the end. You can also catch it later in the archives.

***I’m excited about this, too! Daryl Wood Gerber’s story “In Dying Color” came out in the Crimeucopia Anthology GREAT GOOGLY MOO this month. https://www.murderousinkpress.co.uk/crimeucopia---great-googly-moo!.html

THE BAD

***oceanpdf is very, very bad. It’s a pirate site, has stolen many, many copyrighted books and is selling them without giving any money to the publishers or authors. Please don’t use it.

***I had some surgery on my toes to alleviate pain, but didn’t realize how awful the recovery would be. I’ll be in “the boot” even longer than for my bunion surgery, even though it involved my 3rd and 4th toes. I had broken the 3rd one and succeeded in smashing the bones to bits, so it has a pin in it, sticking way out, making me nervous all the time. I’ll get the pin removed and get out of the boot either 12/17 or 12/10 depending on what the doc says next Tuesday when he takes out the stitches.

The worst part about this is not being able to drive! There’s so much to run around doing right now. [sigh]

***We’ve had a death in the family and it’s hitting all of us pretty hard, putting a damper on the season. But we do all of this for the young ‘uns, right? So we’ll do it.

KINDA GOOD, KINDA BAD

***This is definitely a first-world complaint. I had to get a new washer and dryer, due to the demise of the ones I’ve been using for about 12 years. And I don’t like the dryer door opening to the side so that I can drop even more clothes on the floor.

SOME THINGS YOU CAN DO

***I’m currently working with two publishers. One is White City Press, the mystery, crime, and suspense imprint of MistiMedia. They’ve been putting out some great books, including anthologies. You can follow them here to keep up with the news. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61566899096029

My own publication page there is: https://whitecitypress.com/author/kayegeorge/MM/26/

***The other publisher is Rowan Sapphire, the Suspense imprint of Rowan Prose Publishing. My novel, SOMEONE IS OUT THERE, is coming out in April, but for now, you can watch a trailer at this site AND put in a preorder if you’re so inclined.
