☕ Tuesday Tea - Snarls and squeaks
Dec 20, 2022 1:48 pm
Dear ,
I belong to a local Lost and Found pet group on Facebook. Last week, someone posted looking to rehome a cat who'd been left behind when her neighbors moved. When I say he had the sweetest face ...
Meet Pumpkin. Softest fur. Squeakiest meow. He is slowly acclimating to his new home.
Unfortunately, he was so depressed that he stopped grooming himself and now has some massive snarls. We have a grooming appointment in a few days. Wish him luck!
Pumpkin Hot Chocolate (in Honor of Our New Little Man)
I know full-well that winter is in full swing in many places, but as the kitty's name is Pumpkin, we had to do the honors with this sweet, warm fall-friendly brew. I found a sumptuous pumpkin hot chocolate recipe that is simple enough to make in the crockpot! You'll love it. This comes by way of The Country Cook.
Ingredients
1 gallon whole milk or almond milk
1 can pumpkin puree (half for a more subtle taste)
22 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 TB pumpkin pie spice
Add ingredients to crockpot and cook on high for 2 1/2 hours. Stir every 30 minutes. Serve on warm for up to four hours.
Hope you all have a warm, soft kitty to pet while reading your next book. Need some recommendations? Take a look!
Vega Bloodmire has no problem with the label “villainous witch,” though she draws the line at being called a self-centered hag. Life isn’t easy being twenty-two, drop-dead gorgeous, and the most fashionable witch in all the land—especially while working as an intern teacher at a magical boarding school.
Just when Vega thinks she has student teaching figured out, she is framed for murder. Worse yet, she fears she might have revealed her darkest secret—one so awful she will be shunned by Witchkin society even if she can prove her innocence.
Vega needs to find the true culprit behind this crime in order to save her reputation—and her life.
The Faery of Witchmas Past: A Wonky Inn Christmas Cozy Special
Christmas at Whittle inn? Sounds faery nuff …
This year Alf, our favourite British witch, finds herself in hot water with Gwyn when she tries to sell off some of her great-grandmother’s ugly, vintage Christmas decorations.
It transpires that Gwyn has more than a passing attachment to the faery that has traditionally topped the inn’s main Christmas tree. Without this particular gargoyle, sorry—precious angel—in its habitual place, the inn is cursed. Or so legend has it.
Alf is not convinced …
Until the faery’s new owner is found dead.
With chaos and catastrophe unraveling all around her, Alf has her work cut out if she wants her guests to enjoy a faery, merry Christmas!
If you’re a fan of humorous magic stories, you’ll love this Grimms' type fairy tale meets witch-and-wizard-sleuthing-mystery mash-up.
Until next time,
