☕ A Tuesday Tea Release - Okay, who forgot the cranberries?

Nov 22, 2022 7:00 pm

Dear ,

For a few years there, I thought cranberries were making a comeback. In 2018 to 2020, simmer pots were all the rage. What makes your house smell better than cranberries, bay leaves and cinnamon sticks? Nothing. Unfortunately, it seems the fruit has once again fallen by the wayside.

Are we really going to let this happen?

Ignoring all of the sweets that incorporate a zing of cranberry, there are an endless number of cranberry-flavored drinks ... tea, for instance.

I stumbled onto this recipes -- passed down for generations -- on Montana Happy. I can easily see this becoming one of our own family traditions. It looks so beautiful, smells mouthwatering and the flavor does not disappoint.

Ingredients

12 oz of fresh cranberries

2 juiced oranges

2 juiced lemons

2 cinnamon sticks

TWELVE whole cloves

1 1/2 cups of white sugar

3 1/2 quarts of water

Instructions

Toss all your ingredients in the slow cooker or crockpot on low for 6 hours.

I cannot imagine making this any other way, but if you prefer, you can also make it on the stove. Start by bringing the water and berries to a boil, then lower the heat and simmer for half an hour. Add the other ingredients. Remove from heat, and cover for one hour.

Not only does this taste and smell really wonderful, it's also infused with nutrients, and is, in no small part, thanks to the cranberries, a literal powerhouse of vitamins and antioxidants.

Unfortunately, cranberries, like any ingredient, can be a problem for some people, so if you struggle with kidney stones, take the blood thinner warfarin or have other existing health issues, you may want to check with your doctor.

Now for something really sweet, check out this affordable three-book collection...

Salem Supernaturals (Books 1 - 3)

by Lisa Carlisle

Rebel Spell

I’m a witch without magic. I left Salem because I didn’t fit in, but now I have to return to deal with my aunt’s estate.

When I meet my quirky, supernatural tenants, they convince me to go to the Halloween ball–and to pretend to be the vampire’s girlfriend. Risky? Perhaps. Witches are being murdered, and trouble is brewing like an overflowing cauldron.

Is returning here a fatal mistake?

Hot in Witch City

A wolf shifter enters my retro rock club and claims I'm his mate.

That’s not going to happen.

I'm half-siren and all single. No way am I giving up my freedom for some delusional furball.

Dancing with My Elf

A dragon shifter thinks I need his help.

Ha. I'm a detective. Why would I need help from an exotic dancer on a case that involves dark magic? We're searching for demons, not dollars.

Fans of New Girl will love the Salem Supernaturals with awkward meet cutes, quirky housemates, and found families.

Visit Salem in a series spiced with humor, romance, and suspense!
