☕ Tuesday Tea - Of squabbles and squats

Dec 06, 2022 1:46 pm

Dear ,

In November, I did a 3000-squat challenge to help raise money for children's cancer research. It was intense. I completed 100 per day for all 30 days, but I have some bad news ...

It made my body feel fantastic.

I know, I should lie and say it was terrible and there were no benefits! No one wants a reason to work out. However, I've had a knee injury for a year that just would not heal. After two weeks, it felt solid.

I should also mention that my legs, tush, hips and abs took turns complaining up until that point. There's definitely a reason to talk to your doctor before starting any new exercise regimen. For a minute there, I thought I'd ruptured something. 😅

It's nice being free of a daily knee ache though, so I think I'll keep it up. Maybe not 100 per day, but something.

I also raised some money for St. Jude's in the process and met so many supportive, inspiring women. Facebook does a wonderful job of setting these fundraisers up. There's dozens of them -- walking, biking, swimming, whatever speaks to you. If you're interested, please check them out.

What have you been doing to stay healthier as winter rolls in? Be sure to reply to this email and let me know! I need all the inspiration I can get.

Then put your mental muscles to work with this delectable freebie from Elle Wren Burke...

A Vampire Pet Boutique Mystery

by Ellen Wren Burke

Josie runs a pet boutique named after her dog, Matilda, while solving mysteries in her hidden vampire town. Josie has the same disability as the author, and in this novella, she zooms around on a bright-orange mobility scooter to solve a murder at a music festival.
