I'm going to recap my favorite books I read this year. And none of them, oddly enough, have anything to do with marketing.

But they all had a major impact on my life this year.

🏔️ The Gap and the Gain

My top pick this year was one of the last books I read this year, but it's already had some of the largest impact on me.

At the core, the book is about moving success criteria away from ideal expectations (that we typically get from outside sources) and toward measuring success based on our previous selves.

Rather than feel limited by everything you have yet to do or accomplish, it reframes your thinking toward constant progress and gratitude even when things get rough.

This was a wonderful, but very difficult year for me in a lot of ways. And this book has been essential in helping me redefine my happiness and success criteria.

🧭 Hero On a Mission

Hero On a Mission is my second pick from 2023. This book taught me to look at my life holistically -- not simply through the lens of career, achievement, and advancement.

It even guides you through how to write your eulogy to put your life in perspective (which is an eye-opening experience if you're willing to do it).

🧠 The Magic of Thinking Big

My third book was a surprise for me. The title was a little woo-woo when I picked it up, but it turned out to be one of my favorites.

I'm not sure if you picked up the theme here, but so much of my personal development this year was around switching up my thought process.

2023 was a big reset year for me personally and professionally.

And this year I leaned into focusing on the positive, good, and joyful aspects of life, even when things were difficult.
