Hey friend!

2024 is here. And there's nothing like rolling into a new year to change your perspective.

Lots of hope. Lots of ambition. Lots of room to grow.

So, let's run a different race this year.

Not the same, old, tiresome content sprints everyone in SaaS is running right now.

Because here's how most teams function:

Create → Publish → Hope people see it → Hope they buy

However, this is a race that, by design, sets you up for exhaustion, not a real victory.

We're stuck in a loop, churning out content because that's what we've been told success looks like.

But what if success isn't about running faster, but running smarter?

What if the game isn't a sprint, but a marathon?

What if you could create less (but higher quality) content and then spread the word like crazy?

Imagine your content having a purpose, a direction, and most importantly, an impact.

Not just sitting on some blog page along with 1 million other blog posts.

I promise it's not some pie-in-the-sky dream. And there are marketing teams out there right now that are having a blast playing the long game.

They're putting their customers first.

Creating some amazing content for them.

And distributing it consistently.

You can do that too.

But before you can do it, you need to decide which race you want to run.

Here are 3 reasons you might want to rethink your strategy in 2024:

1. Sustainability over speed

It's not about how fast you can churn out content. Sustainable marketing practices outlive the quick fixes. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

2. Efficiency is king

Why create ten pieces of content when one is enough? So often we don't even know how much content we need. Efficiency isn't laziness. It's leverage.

3. Be effective, not busy

Busyness is your enemy. It's not about filling up the calendar but filling up the minds of your audience. Reverse engineer how your audience consumes your content and then create the content to fill that funnel.

Key Takeaways

  1. Question your approach: Look at your current strategy. Is it serving you well? Or is it time for an upgrade?
  2. Unlock the potential: Every piece of content you create has the potential to grow into something great. But you can't throw it in the dirt and expect great things to happen. You need a plan to nurture it and help it grow.
  3. Impact over quantity: Change your mindset around creation. Your audience doesn't care about your content calendar. They need help. Measure impact, influence, and engagement. Your content should be more than a checkbox task every week.

As we start the new year, now is the time to stop the endless creation cycle.

And begin something new.

Have a great week 👊

Justin
