Today I want to show you the easiest way to...


  • build a sustainable strategy in 2025
  • that actually drives results
  • without overwhelming you (or your small marketing team)


Podcasts are one of my all-time favorite ways to build a content engine.


But if you're only launching a podcast because "everyone else is doing it" you're going to struggle to maintain consistency, measure success, and justify the resources you're investing.


And yet, if you're not using audio and video content right now, you're missing out on a massive opportunity.


But, my friend Rachel Downey gave me the smarter approach.


You can build a content strategy that:


  • Fuels your content engine for 6-12 months
  • Requires minimal ongoing production time
  • Delivers measurable results aligned with your goals


The best part? You don't need hundreds of thousands of listeners or viral content to succeed.


As Rachel told me, "Most of the time, you don't need hundreds of thousands of people listening to your stuff... you just need a few of the right people paying attention."


So how do you build this kind of sustainable strategy?


Here are 4 "podcast tactics" you can steal in 2025 that don't require a massive team or budget (or even a "traditional" podcast):


1. The Manifesto Method


Instead of killing yourself trying to do weekly episodes, record one mega-episode that captures everything you believe about your industry or approach.


Think of it as your Cornerstone piece of content that fuels your thought leadership all year long.


Rachel is doing this right now at Share Your Genius. She's recording a 60-90 minute episode that will give her team enough material for 6-12 months of content.


Here's how to do it: Write down your core beliefs and perspectives (doesn't have to be fancy). Record it once, but wear different outfits so you can slice it up later.


Then grab both audio and video and turn it into blogs, social posts, etc. and share it consistently across your core channels.


2. Theme-Based Episodes


Every episode should tie back to something you actually care about talking about.


How to make it work: Pick a few themes you want to be known for. Before recording, write down how each episode fits those themes. Then figure out who on your team will share what pieces.


3. The Batching Method


You don't have to (and shouldn't be) trying to create content every single day.


It's exhausting and unnecessary. Instead, I'd try to knock it all out at once.


How to make it work: If you want to pump out a bunch of videos, do what Rachel did: make a list of 15-20 topics, bring a few outfit changes, and record everything in one go. You can pick a few different spots to record or do it all in one spot.


4. The Pilot Approach


If you want to build out a bigger show, you don't have to commit to a whole podcast series right away.


How to make it work: Record 1-2 episodes first. Build out your distribution plan, and see if you can actually get them out to your audience.


Then, based on what you learn, you can decide if you want to do more.


That's it. No fancy strategies or complicated frameworks. Just practical stuff that works for any small team.


Think about what you could do with your content in 2025:


  • Pick one clear goal - are you building your brand, generating leads, or growing an audience?
  • Be realistic about your time - maybe weekly isn't right for you, and that's okay.
  • Focus on just 1-2 channels where you'll share your content consistently.


Start small.


Maybe that's 12 episodes.


Maybe it's a quarterly batch of content.


Whatever works for your schedule and your team.
