♻️ the best metric you’re not using (yet)

My friend (and amazing marketer) Jess Cook introduced me to something a few years ago called the Repurposing Multiplier.

It's a simple formula that shows the true reach of your content after it gets chopped, clipped, emailed, and distributed.

Let's say your podcast gets 100 listens.

But you slice it into LinkedIn posts, a blog, a few emails...

And over the next quarter, those assets reach 50,000 people.

Your Repurposing Multiplier = 500x.

Not bad for one episode.

And it's way more impressive to report on.

How I do it today:

  1. Pick the baseline content (podcast, blog, etc.).
  2. Track views across all repurposed formats.
  3. Total up your reach.
  4. Divide by your original baseline = your multiplier.

One of the best (and simplest) ways I've been sharing distribution data with leadership and the sales team is by creating these little documents that show the reach/impact.

It's an easy way to share what you're creating, and how you're seeing growth across you're different platforms.

I'm using Snagit to create these. It takes a few minutes at the beginning of each month and makes a massive impact in those meetings.

Start tracking your multiplier, and you’ll never see “one post” the same way again.

Hope you have a great week!

Justin
