♻️ my most engaging content was hiding in plain sight

Hey friend!
I used to think everything I created had to be new.
So I struggled to put out consistent content.
But then I found out the best content isn't "new".
It's repeated.
The top creators and companies reuse their top content all the time.
So I started to do the same thing.
I had a post go out this week on LinkedIn talking about how nobody cares that you have old content.
Then comments started rolling in.
And this one from Joel stuck out for me.
The reality is we often overcomplicate things in life to avoid them.
Repurposing your content definitely doesn't need to be complicated.
And the more you do it, the more comfortable it gets.
It's way more art than science.
The funny thing is that the post that Joel commented on is a great example of how to repurpose your content because I stole three different things from myself to create this post.
And I guarantee nobody in the audience knew or cared that it was "repurposed" content.
So today I'm going to walk through and reverse engineer what I did to make a brand new post out of old things I had lying around.
1 - The Hook
The first element you can reuse from old content is your hook.
In this case, I took the hook from an 11-month-old post with 140+ engagements and reused it word-for-word in my new post.
There's no need to reinvent the wheel if you've already come up with a great hook that resonates.
Repurpose what worked to draw folks in again.
2 - The Meat
Next, look at repurposing the content of your old posts.
Can you take a key section, story, or examples and give them new life in a new piece?
I essentially copied the content from a different old post into my new post.
Just slight modifications, but the same helpful info.
This content resonated once, so it was almost guaranteed to hit again.
3 - The Media
Finally, visuals like images, graphics, and videos are perfect for repurposing.
I took an existing Canva video I made and simply swapped out the background video and text with new elements.
In a few seconds, that old media becomes new media.
Play around with modifying visuals to go with your repurposed hook and content.
Your content is a LEGO block
The key takeaway here is that your old content is full of building blocks you can reuse in creative ways.
Just like with LEGOs, you can build new content out of those old pieces.
Don't let that great old content go to waste.
Start repurposing it to maximize your reach and help more people.
What old hooks, content sections, or media can you give new life to this week?
