My first year in business, I made $1750 Canadian.
Across 3 speeches.
A high school.
A student club.
A vegan restaurant.
And I eat meat.
(Ironic, I know)
I was broke.
I could barely afford to go out with friends.
If I did, I’d only order a main.
No apps.
Despite my situation…
I still had the feeling I was going somewhere.
That I’d ‘make it’.
Not because I had the talent.
But because I was committed for the long-run.
Committed to doing it for 10 years.
I started with the understanding that it was going to be a JOURNEY.
A long one.
One that wouldn’t pay off immediately.
One that didn’t seem to ‘make sense’.
But isn’t that how all great dreams start?
A desire to create something unrealistic?
Something that people ask:
“Are you sure you can do that?”
No.
Not at all.
And that’s the point.
We were meant to pursue hard things.
To stretch ourselves.
To test our comfort zones.
To find out what is truly possible.
Regardless of where you are.
Your situation can improve.
Your dream can be realized.
Your prayer can be answered.
But you need to:
Have clarity of the goal.
Stay committed to it.
Keep taking action.
These are the ingredients of real growth.
Growth that makes that dream into a reality.
What is a big dream you are pursuing right now?
