The ‘Someday Concept’ may be the missing piece we’ve been looking for.
It has changed the way I see my work forever.
There is this idea called the ‘Someday Concept’ that refers to:
“A future goal that is not tied to a specific date…
Often implying a hope for the future.”
Sounds great, right?
Not quite.
See, though the concept suggests that ‘Someday’ is actually a good thing…
Because it gives you hope,
It gets you excited about possibility…
It doesn’t take into account a crucial factor in who we are:
Delay.
As people, we delay things due to:
- Fear
- Worry
- Fatigue
- Ability
*Insert reason here*
Some call it procrastination.
I call it avoidance.
Avoiding what we truly want.
Because it’s easier to avoid than to face our dreams and fail.
It’s easier to put something off than to claim it and fall short.
We avoid not because it’s not the right time.
We avoid because we’re afraid.
‘Someday’ is the lie fear sells us to keep us from moving forward.
So, instead of waiting for the ‘right time’ or ‘someday’…
Here’s what I suggest:
1.Trade ‘SOMEDAY’ for ‘TODAY’.
Don’t delay your dreams. Take action right now and move towards making them happen.
2.Trade ‘POSSIBILITY’ for ‘PRODUCTIVITY’.
Instead of just being excited about the possibility of your goals, get productive and make real progress.
3.Trade ‘DELAY’ for ‘DIRECTION’.
Set a clear direction and define the steps you need to take in order to get there.
We’ve all put things off.
Delayed our dreams.
Put our life on hold.
No more.
Don’t let another day go by where you push your dream into the future.
Take action today.
Make progress today.
Move forward today.
Your dreams are a lot closer than you think.
