10 years of trial and error

After 10 years of trial and error, I finally figured it out.

As I sit here looking back at the past 500 events, I can't help but reflect on the journey to get here.

I vividly remember sitting in my parents basement, wondering how I was going to make this work.

The dream?

➡ To be inspiring thousands of people.

➡ To show up with the confidence that inspires others to build their own.

➡ To share a message I was made to deliver.

But sitting on that couch, I couldn’t help but let THAT voice take control:

➡ “You might figure it out, but it probably won’t last."

➡ “What if you aren’t cut out for this?”

➡ “You should probably try something else.”

No matter how much ‘re-framing’ I did, I couldn’t get myself out of the negative thought spiral.

I sat there for hours with little confidence and no progress.

I had 1 of 2 choices:

1. Waste more time dwelling on the limitations

2. Take action anyways

In stead of trying to ‘re-frame’ my negativity, I decided to act in spite of it.

I started sending emails to organizations I was not qualified to speak at.

I reached out to people I was almost sure would leave me on ‘read’.

I took action REGARDLESS of the limitations my brain was trying to sell me.

Did it work immediately?

Not even close.

But what it DID do was give me proof.

Proof that I can take action even when everything is pointing me in the other direction.

The more action I took, the more ‘in control’ I felt over my life. Not the outcome, but how I approached it.

After 10 years, and 500+ trial and error sessions, I FINALLY figured out the answer to meaningful progress.

Here’s exactly how I hit the override switch in my brain to become an action machine:

STEP #1: Set a goal bigger than you’re comfortable with.

STEP #2: Define what actions will move you closer to it.

STEP #3: Take action so consistently, everyone in your life thinks you’re NUTS.

STEP #4: Repeat steps 1-3 over and over and over again.

It really is that simple.

It is by no means the attractive answer.

But it is the system that I attribute any big win that I’ve ever experienced in life.

It is how you unlock the next level of your life.

Set a goal.

Get in the game.

Take action

Learn from it.

Do it again.

Fail.

Learn from it again.

Never stop pushing.

Eventually, people will ask you: “how’d you get so much done?”

Your answer?

“I just kept going.”

Even on the hard days, I encourage you to keep going. Find the strength to move forward even when you feel like you don't have the energy for it.

When you commit to consistent progress, you take things to a completely new level.

I want to see you win.

I am in your corner.

You've got this.

Let's go.
