Does your company treat YOU fairly?
This is a pretty weird question given that, if you’re on my list, you are either a CEO or Founder.
Yet I am still going to ask you - does your company treat YOU fairly?
There is something funny about the word “company” because it has two meanings:
- Company: a commercial business. “John started a shipping company.”
- Company: the fact or condition of being with another or others, especially in a way that provides friendship or enjoyment. “John loves the company of Mary.”
For a lot of reasons, your business may have ended up creating an environment that is just not that great for you.
Maybe you are overworked.
Maybe you are stressed.
Maybe you are burnt out.
Maybe you don’t sleep well, maybe you’re putting on weight, maybe your work environment is taking its toll on your family life.
What do you think would happen if one of your employee was going through this?
They would try to change company.
So you should do the same thing. And remember, the word has two meanings :)
The most important employee in your business is YOU.
So make sure you work in a great company.
