what defines you?

For many of us, what we do defines who we are. But...should it?

According to author and entrepreneur Cory Camp, “What you do for a living doesn’t define you, it’s just merely an expression of who you are.”

As an ex-collegiate swimmer, Cory knows the struggle of finding your identity in the wrong places. When the final race of his career did not go as planned and this major part of his life came to a screeching halt, he found himself struggling with his identity, as do many other athletes.

Though a struggle at the time, Cory decided to turn breakdowns into breakthroughs and founded his own company, Forever Athlete, as well as authored a book by the same name, with the emphasis on encouraging athletes and humans in general to not be defined by their occupation.

Recently, we welcomed Cory to The Uncomfortable Podcast to discuss his journey of diving into the uncomfortable and how he has come out on top. In addition, we discussed taking ownership, mental health, his journey through sports, his biggest lesson from his time as an NCAA swimmer, and so much more.

After you check out Cory’s inspiring story, I have a quick question for you...

What is ONE actionable step you can take to start taking ownership over your life today?

📝Take a moment and journal about this. Write the question above on a blank piece of paper and let your mind flow. Then go take action!

Let's finish this week strong!

Keep diving,

Jake
