Welcome to the November 9th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.
At some point during this week, it was intense for me.
What do I do in those times?
I return to silence.
Silence and rest.
Emotional rest.
On one of the days, I decided to do the drive to work in silence. I took a pause.
Friday evening, as I got back from work, I took some time to rest in the place of prayer.
I gained strength from that time.
There are more resources that God has placed around me than I am seeing.
During that time on Friday, I had an “Elisha servant” moment.
God had to literally open my eyes to see the resources around me.
The pressure I felt came from having blind eyes. Eyes that see know there is more for every day, and no day is designed to overwhelm me.
Another life lesson in my back pocket.
Things I Learnt
1-Value in What I have created: One of the things I realised during the week was the value of codifying my daily lessons and discoveries into complete frameworks.
Why?
Because they become a body of knowledge that can be used to train and develop others. I have found myself teaching and training from these in recent times.
And this applies to my regular 8-5 work.
The interesting thing is how much value others are getting from my codified lessons and experiences.
The important lesson for me from this is not to stop at documenting my learnings and lessons, but to also codify them.
2-When God Trusts You With More: The biggest source of challenge for me is the "more" that I am having to carry during these times.
It is a simple reminder to me that God trusts me with more, even if I think I can't carry "more".
My mind goes to the statement by Teresa of Avila, "If this is how you treat your friends, it's no wonder you have so few."
God's friends have to deal with more than they think they can bear.
Abraham waited 25 years before getting the promised child, and Jesus even begged for the cross to be let go if it was possible.
Dealing with "more" is part of the experience of pursuing intimacy with God.
We take the "more" because we choose it over the easy way, so we can live up to the tag "friends of God."
Postscript
May you joyfully embrace the sacrifice God has called you into. Amen
