Faith & Life Lessons – August 31, 2025

image

Welcome to the August 31st edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

The foundation of living a Christian life of success is not so much what we get through our faith.

It is measured more by what our Christian faith helps us to say, either "No" or "Yes" to.

The case is usually more about what we say "No" to through our faith.

Our Christian faith gives us the courage and grace to take a strong stand for choices that honour God the most.

It’s not a case of “I’m saying No to sin.” It’s rather a case of “I am saying ‘Yes’ to the best of options to honor God.

I had to do a bit of that in the week.

Later in the week, while speaking with my spiritual director, it was reaffirming to process everything that I had gone through with him.

The things I said “Yes” and “No” to would push me beyond where I currently am.

September is going to be an interesting month.

Living on the Grace of God.

Things I Learnt

1-Don’t Steal From Him: Last week, I had just gotten access to a business leader’s teaching materials.

He is someone who is in the trenches, so this is not fluffy stuff. This is the real deal.

I felt a check internally, which stopped me from getting into it. It came to me as this, “Don’t steal from him.”

I didn’t understand why.

Well, during this week, I got access to another business leader’s matter and was ready to dive into it, but I felt the same hesitation inside me.

Later in the week, I found out why.

God wants me to do the hard work of sitting with Him to gain new wisdom to train and mentor with.

Yes, I was going to have to do the hard work of finding the wisdom God wants me to build my practice on, and not be an echo of others.

It’s the kind of work I like. It’s also interesting that “I’ve been barred” from reading some other business leaders’ knowledge for now.

I’ll continue this path until the tide changes.

And do the hard work of learning wisdom from God.

Another way, I am honoring God in this season.

2-Leaning on Something More: Something happened during the week that made me wonder at how God keeps His Word.

I got the opportunity to serve two different people, which would have a positive impact on different arms of my practice.

The interesting thing is that I didn’t go out to get these people - they literally fell into my lap.

I’ll tell the full story someday in the future.

But the bigger fact is that God told me that I would not go out looking for people; He would bring them to me.

And He is doing that.

Doing it in a way that I do not burn out.

God is faithful to keep His promise and make His Word come alive.

I am living in His season.

Postscript

May your life be a testament of how God keeps His promise to His people. Amen
