Welcome to the January 26th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.
Sunday service was wonderful.
The preacher didn’t really preach. She used her sermon to create an opportunity for God to speak.
It was an experience I hadn’t had in church for a while.
No…not that all the other preachers have not been letting God speak.
Even this preacher has also preached a few times before.
Today was different.
At least for me.
As she was preaching, I was writing prayers, convictions, and commitments.
I loved the service.
Because it brought me closer to hearing new things from God.
Things that were a continuation of how God had been leading me.
I am living under heaven.
Things I Learnt
1-Keeping A Commitment: A colleague of mine at work asked me for a favour. He had made a commitment to me when he needed to step in to help him out.
I had stepped in.
He is meant to be meeting his obligation next week.
He was asking for a favour - he wanted to back out of the commitment.
Why?
According to him, he was asking because I am a friend.
And I didn’t agree with him breaking his commitment because I am a friend.
He needs to be reminded that he needs to keep his commitment.
Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the LORD, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Psalm 15:4
Friends help friends become better.
2-The Right Activities for Success: I sent my plan for delivering one of my key objectives to my coach.
He reviewed it and the summary of his feedback was this “My plan was not fully congruent with who I am.”
According to him, I was trying to achieve my goal by doing too many activities that did not take into the rest of my life.
I have a family, a full-time job and I run a practice.
The activities I choose for achieving my goals should take into account the time I want to spend in other areas of my life.
We got on a call and I came out of the call knowing this, “I can achieve the same goal by doing less.”
I just needed to know the right activities I should be focusing on.
My coach helped me to see that.
The value of having someone who can help you think better.
Postscript
May you find the people God has planted in your life to help you make better decisions. Amen
