Faith & Life Lessons – December 14, 2025

image

Welcome to the December 14th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

This was a week of interesting highs with emotional lows.

But I am committing to the bigger wins ahead.

Highs and lows can become distractions if I let them.

I let them become lessons instead.

I learn what to do more of and what to do less of through them.

And I remind myself of who I need to become more of.

Becoming is more important than doing.

Because who I become helps me to sustain what I can do.

I don’t want to do it in a way that breaks me; I want to do it in a way that honours God and lets me reflect the full capacity of all I can be.

This new season of my life is going to be beautiful.

Things I Learnt

1-The Power of Attention: I had my first meeting with a new mentor this week. It was also a meeting I wished I could have recorded.

Why?

Because of the huge experience he had.

It was also one I could not record.

Why?

Because that would get in the way of his sharing more details during the meeting.

But I know the sweet spot for these sorts of meetings - Pay full attention to the most important person in the room.

I did.

And I didn’t even take any detailed notes.

Later on that day, I sat down to type out all he had said. I was able to compile notes of about 4 pages.

Attention gives power to memory. What I give attention to, I build the capacity to excel in it more.

2-A Part of a Bigger Story: During a one-on-one call with one of my clients, our conversation went into faith and the unseen bigger picture that God writes with our lives.

I told her the story of Ezekiel. For no fault of his, God told him He would bring about the death of his wife.

Add to that, Ezekiel was not allowed to mourn or weep over her passing away.

Or do you want to talk about Hosea, who God told to marry a harlot for a wife?

Sometimes what happens to us has nothing to do with us. It is just about the part God wants to write with our lives in the whole story of humanity He is writing.

We live the script.

He writes the script.

He remains good through it all.

Postscript

May you never think less of God’s goodness during challenging times. Amen
