Welcome to the November 30th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.
Something big hit me this week.
I was studying the story of Jesus feeding the multitudes.
The disciples came to meet with Jesus to tell him about the hunger problem that was brewing after the wonderful sermons the people had listened to.
They came up with a simple "no-risk-to-themselves" plan. Send the people home to get food for themselves.
Jesus flipped the script, "You get them something to eat.”
They got a kid’s lunch, and the rest is the miracle of multiplication.
What more did I pick from the story?
Well, it’s when I take responsibility for a problem bigger than me, I receive the experience of seeing the little I have go further.
This is my new season.
The season of embracing the responsibility for things bigger than me
Because I believe God has planted me for a reason in that time of need
Not to just look at the need and walk away. But to take action.
Not for all of the needs. But the ones that I see grace at work in me to do.
This is my season of more.
Things I Learnt
1-When Results Don’t Match Efforts: I had a meeting where the conversation went a completely different direction than I had imagined.
The summary of the conversation was that the person on the other end did not think my results were up to par.
I left the meeting feeling less than enthused.
It took me a few minutes to recover.
I went back with a plan.
Going forward, at the beginning of every 90 days, we would agree on a clear set of targets to shoot the darts at.
This way, at the end of each period, my efforts could be tied to clearly predetermined results.
No need to cry over spilt milk.
Interesting, it took a bit of convincing before the person on the other side agreed to this proposal.
They wanted to leave the measurement of my results to “how they feel”
Well, I’ll be engineering how they will feel as I deliver the results.
Not leaving things to chance.
2-When Things Work Out Differently for Good: I have become so focused on God’s ability to work out things in my best interest.
Even the unexpected things.
Two weeks ago, my spiritual director and I had to move our meeting due to conflicts that came up last minute.
On the rescheduled day during the past week, the meeting became a lifeline of sorts.
During that day, I was in a state that I needed someone to talk with…not just talk with, but to also process with
This was something I told my spiritual director during our meeting.
Meeting with him now was more needed than the previous week.
God has a way of knowing the week ahead and preparing everything ahead of time.
I see it.
Remember it.
Postscript
May you be always comforted knowing God is working all things for your good. Amen
