Welcome to the August 9th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.
You will see this email full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.
The Story of My Week.
There are times that God has wanted us to call on Him when we get into trouble, and there are times that God prepares us for the trouble ahead.
Both are God at work.
This week, I had more of the latter.
About a week and a half earlier, I felt an impression in my heart that I believe was from God to set aside some cash.
I did that without understanding why.
Well, I found out why this week.
The money I had set aside became handy for something I needed to sort out this week.
God saw into the future and knew this need would arise. He stirred my heart in a way that I could respond.
It's not coincidence…no matter what some people may think.
I actually think that coincidences are God's way of staying invisible in most of our lives.
But if we are wise enough, we will see and understand that God is at work.
I choose to be wise about last week.
I choose to say, God is at work in these things.
Things I Learned
1-When the Leader, When the Team: A great team is a combination of great leadership and team members.
Great leadership raises the capacity of the team members, and great members increase the possibility of what can be achieved.
Great leadership can exist without great team members, and great team members can exist without great leadership.
A couple of things happened during the week and have made me ask myself, "Will I qualify as "great leadership" for the teams I lead?" or "Will I be seen as a great team member by my leaders?"
I hope the answer is yes.
OK, better put. I want to work each day to make sure the answer will always be "Yes"
2-A Crowd of Wisdom: There is always wisdom for every season of life. I found a new addition to the crowd for me.
He offers me wisdom for an aspect of life I am navigating.
The real question for me was whether I was going to ask him for his wisdom or do it on my own.
I choose to ask.
And he agreed.
A reminder that sometimes what we need is not the people to help us into the next level.
But the courage to ask them.
I am hoping I always have that courage.
Postscript
May your eyes be open to the people of wisdom around you. Amen
If this encouraged you, please share it with a friend who needs it. And if you are not subscribed yet, make sure you are on the list so you do not miss the next one.
