Faith & Life Lessons | What Faith Goes Through Testing

image

Welcome to the September 20th edition of Faith & Life Lessons.

You will see this email is full of tidbits from my week. My goal is simple. I hope that from how I live my life, you can find a thing or two that helps you as you try to live a life that matters. I am always trying to do one thing - make Christ-focused decisions in love, work, and life. And this was my week.

The Story of My Week.

My faith is going through its testing season.

I am having to hold on to a word that is my anchor for this moment.

Not easy.

Why?

Because faith is the evidence of things not seen.

And we work towards making the unseen seen.

That is the mountain to climb.

Faith must make it so real that it becomes real.

This is the trying of my faith.

Distractions come in many forms...a voice to accept the seen over the unseen, discouraging words with the ability to move my attention... and a few more others.

In all, I am choosing my faith.

The evidence of things not seen to transform the unseen into the seen

The trying of faith.

Things I Learned

1-Becoming the Expected: Friday was our wedding anniversary. It's interesting the people who have learned to look forward to it.

Not because of us. Definitely not.

Maybe it's the way I wrap our anniversary celebrations.

A few years back, I did a cover of Every Breath You Take by the band "The Police" for my wife.

I thought it would be a one-off thing.

Until the next year, when I didn't and did something else.

My wife mentioned that she missed it.

And since then, I have been doing a song for her every year.

It's amazing the people who ask me what I am doing.

My wife and I went to an event, and a lady said she looks forward to seeing our anniversary video.

Earlier on Friday, someone even asked me if I wasn't doing a video this year before someone else told her I had already sent the one out for this year.

I don't think it's about us.

I think people are living vicariously through us. They are expressing the sentiments important to them through those videos.

Glad something that my wife likes, which I do, serves others.

2-When Less is Better: I am currently editing my latest book.

The objective of this round of editing is to reduce excess.

I have a confession. I don't like books where an author is repeating the same thing he has already explained...which we got the first time.

I also don't want to be that author.

So I am cutting from my words.

Less can be better

Postscript

May your faith withstand distractions. Amen
